Terry Vaughan joined one of England's most elite military branches, the Royal Marine Commandos, in 1991. The training for this elite group was seven months in duration, with a failure rate of close to 70 percent. Surviving training was a staple throughout military service and practiced in various inhospitable locations across the British Isles.
All aspects of training for this branch were designed to challenge both the physical and mental strength of the individual, as well as develop his role within the team. Navigational skills for military deployments were mandatory and included using both map and compass, as well as landmarks, terrain features, and the starr system. Various other aspects of military skills covered during his service career include tracking, escape and invasion, unarmed combat, shelter construction, offensive and defensive driving, climbing, urban close quarter battle, anti-ambush drills, patrolling, booby traps, and first aid in tropical and cold climates.
Terry comments, "The military uses a variety of tools to turn individuals into a cohesive team. We have taken the most relevant of these ideas and capitalized on them to help develop and mold your management team. Now that we have combined our on-site physical training challenges to complement Coaching Works Executive Leadership fitness program, we are offering a truly original, one of a kind concept".
As owner of High Intensity Teambuilding, Terry now lives in Charlotte. He is married with three young children who regularly test his endurance out on camping trips or impromptu wrestling matches! He is a certified Personal Trainer, survival instructor, motivational speaker, and self-defense instructor.
